Jamshedpur, India – April 2025
A visionary educational initiative by Gurukul Study Circle has begun to bear extraordinary fruit, with student Ritwik Mehta securing All India Rank 115 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, thus realizing his dream of becoming an IAS officer.
Ritwik’s journey is not only inspirational but also a shining example of how early preparation with the right guidance can lead to success in one of India’s most challenging examinations.
What makes this achievement even more impressive is that Ritwik was previously selected as an IPS officer in UPSC 2023 with AIR 520 — showcasing consistent performance at the national level.
The secret to his success? An early start with Gurukul’s groundbreaking initiative: the “Junior IAS Program”, an educational model that encourages career preparation alongside school studies.
🧠 A Foundation Built from Class 6 According to Dr. Sanjeev Sinha, Director of Gurukul Study Circle, Ritwik joined the Junior IAS Program when he was in Class 6. From that young age, he began engaging with concepts through the “UPSC PYQ in NCERT” Series and Tricky GS modules, building a solid command over the NCERT syllabus from Classes 6 to 12.
After completing school, Ritwik pursued his graduation in the Arts stream, majoring in Geography — a natural choice given his strong academic foundation and early preparation.
Dr. Sinha elaborated,
“The Junior IAS Program is designed to plant the seeds of UPSC preparation early. By the time Ritwik completed school, he had already covered all the foundational subjects, which allowed him to focus entirely on revisions, test series, and answer writing practice during his college years.”
🎓 Junior IAS: A Weekend Learning Revolution Gurukul’s Junior IAS Program conducts live online weekend classes every Saturday and Sunday, enabling students from all corners of India to prepare for their civil service dreams while continuing their regular schooling.
“If a child truly aspires to be an IAS officer, the journey should begin at school. With regular mentoring, structured NCERT analysis, and an engaging curriculum, Gurukul is transforming future leaders from a young age,” said Dr. Sinha.
🚀 A Model Worth Replicating Nationwide Ritwik’s success has not only brought pride to Jamshedpur but also validated Gurukul’s innovative educational philosophy. It shows that UPSC preparation is no longer confined to post-graduation years, and with the right mentorship, children can build their career path early — without sacrificing academics.
As thousands of students from across India enroll in the Junior IAS Program, Ritwik Mehta’s story will continue to inspire a new generation of civil servants who begin their journey not in coaching hubs but in classrooms and homes.
